The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu felicitates Umunneochi Women on the success of their annual conference 2024 and described women as an indispensable tool in nation building.
Dr. Chukwu who made this known during the 2024 Annual Women Conference organized by Umunneochi Local Government Council, titled, WOMEN AS THE CORNERSTONE OF DEVELOPMENT, said the theme for the event was apt adding that female gender is a special breed of creation from God that cannot be neglected in development.
He noted that their roles in families cannot be overemphasized as they are integral in moulding and nurturing lives stating that he is a strong promoter of the women course in nation building.
While harping on various achievements of his Principal, the SSA to the Governor, however highlighted that the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti has done marvelously in the area of Security which Umunneochi people are evident beneficiaries informing that residents in the area could now sleep with their eyes closed and go about their normal businesses without fear of kidnap and other forms of criminality that besieged the area a couple of years ago.
While stressing on the importance of women in the society, the Due Process Boss, said that Dr. Alex Chioma Otti’s administration is an ardent supporter and promoter of women in all facets of life, which spurred him to constantly make provisions for funds targeted at market women based in the rural areas.
Chukwu implored Abia women in general to relentlessly support the present administration in its bid to transforming the State through delivering quality democracy dividends.
Speaking on the achievements of Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation, OACF, Dr. Chukwu who is equally the founder and CEO, disclosed that the OACF, is a non-governmental organization, formed to impact ruralites with an objective to ameloriate sufferings of the less privileged.
The Due Process Boss, further disclosed that under his watch, the OACF has given out scholarships programmes to indigent ones in Umunneochi Local Government Area particularly and had distributed food palliatives among other humanitarian projects.
” The OACF has been playing significant roles which has been existing for a while but formally took off August last year, paying tuition fees, distributing books, school bags to the less privilege children in Umunneochi that will last them for at least one academic session and other philanthropic gestures.
“Also the OACF contributes its quota in the sponsoring of this year’s Annual conference adding that the Foundation has soft spots for the women”, Dr. Chukwu added.
High point on the occasion featured distribution of bags of rice and several other palliatives to women by the wife of the Executive Governor of Abia State, Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti.
The SSA to the Governor on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, SSA to the Governor, on Environment, Prof. Ijeoma Iheukwumere, the Mayor of Umunneochi Local Government Council Chief Ndubuisi Ike, SSA on Communication, Mr. Dodo Okoroafor among other dignitaries graced the occasion.
