A fatal road crash involving a bus belonging to Ebonyi State Transport Corporation occurred today along Enough – Port Harcourt expressway, near Ohiya Mechanic Village, Umuahia, Abia State.
According to an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity, the ill-fated bus somersaulted over four time, before coming to a stop.
This, he said led to the tragic loss of five lives with several others sustaining varying degrees of injuries.
Investigation suggests that the driver, who only suffered minor injuries, may have slept off while driving, resulting in the road accident.
Other critical survivors are currently receiving medical attention at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia, while the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the FMC morgue.
