Abia Lawmaker, Lewis Appreciates God, Restates Commitment to Ukwa-East Constituents

The member representing Ukwa-East State Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), Hon. Lewis Chinaemerem Obianyi, has restated his commitment towards quality representation of the people of Ukwa-East Local Government Area (LGA), Abia state.

The lawmaker who stated this during his thanksgiving service at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Azumini Ndoki, Ukwa-East Local Government Area yesterday, said he would never toy with the mandate of his people but would use everything at his disposal to attract dividends of democracy to his constituents.

Fielding questions from newsmen, Hon. Lewis who thanked God for giving him victory at the 2023 general elections, promised that he would not relent until his desire to better the lives of his constituents is achieved.

He also thanked the people of Ukwa-East for their enormous love for him, expressed through their votes at the 2023 polls, adding that they would not regret electing him.

The legislator who also unveiled the first batch of beneficiaries of his training and empowerment programme, noted that it is one of his humble way of thanking his people for their confidence in his leadership.

He promised to sustain the programme, adding that improving Human Capital Development in his constituency is his priority.

In his sermon, the Bishop of Ukwa Diocese, Rt. Revd Manesses Chijiokem Okere, commended Hon. Lewis Obianyi for mapping out time to thank God for his call to higher service, describing the lawmaker as a humble leader who has regards for God and spiritual authority.

The clergy further noted that God has chosen Hon. Lewis Obianyi at this time for a purpose, urging his constituents to support him to achieve his good visions and missions to the people of Ukwa-East LGA.

Bishop Okere who admonished the Abia Lawmaker to remain a politician with good conscience, by always seeking to please God, also charged the 20 beneficiaries of Hon. Lewis training/empowerment programme to make maximum use of the gesture to better their lives.

Contributing, the Federal Lawmaker, representing Ukwa Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, National Assembly, Abuja, Hon. Chris Nkwonta, commended Hon. Lewis for kick-starting on a good note, adding that they would always complement each other in attracting dividends of democracy to their constituents.

Meanwhile, the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa has lauded Hon. Lewis for acknowledging God for his victory at the 2023 polls, adding that members of the 8th Abia Assembly would continue to work in harmony as one family, irrespective of political party affiliations.

In his goodwill message, the member representing Obingwa-West State constituency in ABHA, Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr had extolled Hon. Lewis for his consistency in leading his people at different points in time, calling on Ukwa-East State Constituents to give him the maximum support to succeed.

Meanwhile, the immediate past Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Abia state, Hon. Tony Nwamuo Esq has described Hon. Lewis as a round peg in a round hole, expressing hope that the Lawmaker has the capacity to effectively represent Ukwa-East at Abia state House of Assembly.

The event also attracted the state Chairman, Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Rt. Hon. Alwell Asiforo Okere, the former chairman, Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), Rt. Hon. Emeka Stanley, Member representing Isiala Ngwa North/Isiala Ngwa South Federal Constituency, at the National Assembly, Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, member representing Isiala Ngwa South at ABHA, Hon. Rowland Dennis Caesar, the immediate past chairman, Ukwa-West LGA, Hon. John Ajuzieogwu, the Ukwa-East LGA Chairman of PDP, Hon. Okechi Nwaohu, traditional rulers, clergymen, among others.
