The Traditional Ruler of Eziama/Mgbaja Autonomous Community, Ossah Ibeku, His Royal Majesty Eze Chiabuotu Emelike, has donated security gadgets to the Ossah Vigilante Group, also known as the Ossah Ibeku Security Network, to strengthen local security operations.

Eze Emelike made the donation at his palace in Eziama during a courtesy visit by the vigilante group. He commended their “notable achievements” in protecting lives and property, urging them to intensify efforts against drug abuse, which he described as a rising threat among youths in the community.

“Our records show your impact is commendable. But beyond crime, we must also confront the menace of drug abuse and addiction,” the monarch said. “Anyone caught taking hard drugs or related substances will face jail. We are working closely with security agencies, including the NDLEA, and offenders will not be spared.”

He further cautioned residents against harboring criminals or accommodating strangers, stressing that community safety depends on collective responsibility.

In his response, the Vigilante Commander, Mr. Uzodinma Nwokocha, expressed gratitude to the monarch, describing him as “the first and only ruler” to openly support the security outfit with both cash and materials. He said the gesture was a clear demonstration of the traditional ruler’s commitment to safeguarding his people.

The event also attracted additional cash donations from prominent indigenes and friends of the community to further support the group’s activities.
