The lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly and a frontline aspirant for the Abia South Senatorial District seat, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, has assured the people of the zone that they should expect a higher level of impactful and people-oriented representation if elected into the Senate in 2027.

The former Chairman, Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA), stated this today during an enlarged stakeholders meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held in Umuahia, Abia State.

Fielding questions from newsmen, the Chairman, House Committee on Public Service Matters, Abia State House of Assembly, said his political philosophy has always been anchored on visible performance, accountability, and service to humanity, stressing that leadership should not be based on empty promises but on verifiable achievements and commitment to the welfare of the people.

According to him; “My people have deemed it fit that I should represent them at the 11th Senate of the National Assembly. What I will do differently is to consolidate on the developmental strides and empowerment initiatives I have already demonstrated over the years.”

The Uhie-born legislator said that before any politician unveils a manifesto or seeks another public office, such a person must first account for previous opportunities entrusted to him by the people.

“My pattern of politics is simple: talk about what you have done in the past, what you are doing presently, before talking about what you intend to do in the future. The people deserve to know how you have improved lives with the offices you previously occupied or currently hold in trust,” he added.

The APC chieftain further asserted that his track record in public service, empowerment programmes, and grassroots development speaks volumes, insisting that no fair-minded person in Abia State and beyond would deny his contributions to society.

“With the little opportunity given to me, I have performed above average. By the grace of God, the people should expect nothing less than greater service, effective representation, and more dividends of democracy,” he said.

Speaking on the challenge of contesting against a serving senator seeking a sixth term in office, Erondu Jnr expressed confidence that the 2027 election would mirror the Biblical story of David and Goliath.

“I have God Almighty on my side and I am not scared of nobody. By God’s infinite mercies, the people of Abia South Senatorial District, Abia State, and indeed Nigeria, will rejoice as they will witness a repeat of the David and Goliath story,” he declared.

He also expressed optimism that, with God’s guidance, he would emerge victorious at the APC primaries expected to commence on Monday, May 17, 2026, win the general election in January 2027, and be inaugurated as Senator representing Abia South Senatorial District in June 2027.
