Abia South Women Seek Divine Intervention Over Alleged Substitution of Erondu’s Name
Women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia South Senatorial District yesterday sought divine intervention over the alleged substitution of the name of Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, following his landslide victory at the party’s May 18, 2026 senatorial primary election.

The women gathered at a prayer summit in Aba, Abia State, where they committed the controversy surrounding the Abia South senatorial ticket, the party and the 2027 general elections into the hands of God.
The woman leader who led the prayer summit, Deaconess Chinenye Owuamanam, while praying specifically over the senatorial ticket, called on God to ensure that the outcome of the primary election is upheld, insisting that Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, Esq., who emerged as the APC candidate for Abia South Senatorial District through the duly conducted process, be allowed to retain the ticket and receive the necessary support.

The women also prayed for wisdom, peace and unity within the APC in Abia South, Abia State and at the national level, urging divine guidance for party leaders and stakeholders as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.
They stressed the importance of justice and adherence to due process, while praying that God’s will would prevail in the controversy surrounding the senatorial ticket and that the party would emerge stronger ahead of the elections.

The summit attracted party leaders, stakeholders and representatives from across Abia South, including Chief Nna and Chief Sir Eze Nwanganga.
Others present were Hon. Ifeanyi Mbakwe, Aba South LGA Chairman; Mazi Ekene Maduka, C.O.C. Aba North/South; Hon. Chima James, Aba South LGA Secretary; CCLR Nwankpa Christian Mark; the Aba South LGA Youth Leader, as well as several ward chairmen, women leaders and youth leaders.

The gathering featured worship, prayers and spiritual reflection, with participants expressing a collective resolve to promote unity and strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
