Again, Gov Fubara Writes Amaewhule-led Assembly, Seeks To Re-present 2025 Budget
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has written to the State House of Assembly again, expressing his intention to re-present the 2025 Appropriation Bill.
This followed the Supreme Court’s judgment and the lawmakers’ request for him to re-present the budget.
In a letter dated March 13 2025, addressed to Speaker Martin Amaewhule, and sighted by our Reporter, Fubara disclosed his plan to present the budget on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, or any other day within March that the House deems fit. The governor recalled his previous attempt to present the budget on March 12, 2025, but was denied access to the Assembly Quarters.
Fubara emphasized that his decision is in compliance with the Supreme Court’s judgment and the lawmakers’ request. He acknowledged the lingering stalemate and expressed his commitment to prioritizing the interests of the state and its people over political conflicts.
