Again, Lawmaker, Erondu Jnr, Offers Free JAMB Registration For Indigent Abia Students
There was jubilation in Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA) as the lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State constituency in Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, has again sponsored 2025 free JAMB registration for about 300 indigent Abians.
Interacting with newsmen at the enrollment centre – Comprehensive Secondary School, Osusu Amaukwa, Obingwa LGA, Abia State; the founder, Igodo Igwe Foundation, said the step was to give opportunity to students willing to further their education but are constrained by funds to fulfill their academic dreams.
Represented by his Spokesperson, George Egejuru, the Chairman, House Committee on Public Service, ABHA, also maintained that he strongly believes in the power of education, adding that the annual intervention programme is targeted at easing financial burdens on some parents going through hardship and equip their young ones for a better future.
The former Obingwa Council boss, who reiterated his commitment towards improving the Human Capital Development of his constituents, charged beneficiaries of his benevolence, to embrace diligence to ensure academic excellence in their chosen field of study.
The former Director, Enyimba FC, thanked his constituents for their support and confidence reposed in him, assuring them he would continue to use everything at his disposal to attract democracy dividends to his people.
Responding, one of the beneficiaries, Miss Chibundu Eberechi Mercy, thanked the lawmaker for his passion to help the downtrodden in the society.
She added that her sick mother has taken away a lot of money from her family and could not have written the 2025 JAMB due to lack of funds, except for the lawmaker’s timely intervention.
She prayed God to continue to bless the lawmaker, his family and all his endeavours.
Another beneficiary, Master Zion Chinyere, also thanked the Uhie-born legislator for the gesture, revealing that he has since passed his West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) but has no fund for JAMB registration, until help came his way through Igodo Igwe Foundation free JAMB registration.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nwandiko Victor Uchechukwu, from Osaa Okea, Ahiaba Ward Five, thanked Erondu Jnr for being sensitive to the needs of his constituents.
Nwandiko expressed joy that his daughter; Miss Chioma Rejoice Uchechukwu, who was a beneficiary of the lawmaker’s last year (2024) free JAMB registration, has gained admission to study Science Laboratory Technology in University of Calabar, Cross Rivers State.
He thanked the lawmaker for his quality representation, assuring him of their maximum support in all his future political endeavours.
