The Akirika-Obu Progressive Union in Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State has endorsed the re-election of Governor Alex Chioma Otti and the member representing Ukwa East State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Lewis Obianyi, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced during a visit by the leadership of the union to the lawmaker, where they expressed satisfaction with the performance of both leaders.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the leader of the union, Chief Ihuoma Igwe, commended Hon. Obianyi for what he described as effective representation and commitment to the development of the Akirika-Obu community.
Chief Igwe particularly appreciated the lawmaker for facilitating the establishment of a market for the community and for consistently speaking up for the people on the lingering boundary issues affecting the area.
He also praised Governor Alex Otti for his administration’s commitment to peace, development and infrastructural advancement across Abia State, including efforts that have positively impacted the Akirika-Obu community.
According to him, the community is satisfied with the performance of both the governor and the lawmaker and has therefore resolved to support their re-election in 2027.
He assured that the Akirika-Obu community would mobilise massive support and votes for both leaders, stressing that “one good tenure deserves another.”
The union noted that the endorsement was largely influenced by the lawmaker’s effective representation of the people of Ukwa East State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly as well as the infrastructural strides recorded under Governor Otti’s administration.
