A private jet operated by Flybird Aircraft Management Services Limited made an emergency landing on Sunday morning at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), with all passengers and crew members confirmed safe.
The aircraft, identified as 5N-ISB, was en route from Abuja to Kano when it encountered an operational issue during arrival and landed at about 9:30 a.m. There were 11 persons on board, including three crew members.
Eyewitnesses at the airport said all passengers and crew were promptly evacuated from the aircraft shortly after landing, adding that no injuries or fatalities were recorded.
Confirming the incident, the General Manager of Flybird Aircraft Management Services Limited, Dr. Tracy Wilson, said the flight crew acted professionally and adhered strictly to established safety and operational procedures.
“The aircraft experienced an operational issue during arrival, but the flight crew followed all required protocols and brought the aircraft to a safe stop,” Wilson said. “All passengers and crew disembarked safely, and no injuries were recorded.”
She disclosed that the aircraft has since been secured and that the incident has been formally reported to the relevant aviation authorities. According to her, a comprehensive technical inspection and investigation are currently underway in line with regulatory requirements.
