The Provost of Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu (ASCETA), alongside members of the institution’s Admission Drive Team, has paid a courtesy visit to the Eze of Arochukwu Kingdom, His Eminence, Dr. Eberechukwu Oji, to strengthen collaboration between the college and its host community.
The visit, which took place at the royal palace in Arochukwu, was part of efforts to deepen community engagement and solicit the support of traditional leadership in advancing the institution’s ongoing admission drive and developmental initiatives.
Speaking during the engagement, the Provost highlighted ASCETA’s renewed commitment to academic excellence, skills acquisition, and technical education tailored to meet contemporary demands. He emphasized the importance of community partnership in achieving the college’s mandate, noting that the support of the traditional institution remains crucial to boosting enrollment and enhancing institutional growth.
The Admission Drive Team also presented the challenges faced by some prospective and returning students, particularly financial constraints that hinder their ability to complete registration and meet other academic obligations.
In his response, His Eminence, Dr. Eberechukwu Oji, warmly welcomed the delegation and commended the leadership of ASCETA for its proactive approach in carrying the host community along. He pledged to mobilize financial support within the Kingdom to assist indigent students who are unable to meet their financial responsibilities.
The monarch described education as a vital tool for empowerment and sustainable development, assuring the institution of the Kingdom’s readiness to partner in initiatives that promote access to quality education and youth development.
The visit underscores ASCETA’s broader vision of inclusive growth, strengthened town-and-gown relations, and shared responsibility in advancing education, skills development, and opportunities for young people in Arochukwu and beyond.
