Betta Edu Is Gone, No Place For Her In Tinubu’s Cabinet – Presidency
The Presidency has disclosed that the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Dr. Betta Edu has been replaced by someone from Plateau state.
The Presidential spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, who disclosed this during an interactive session with a National TV and monitored by our reporter, ruled out the possibility of Dr. Edu returning to President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.
Recall that Edu was suspended on January 8 following widespread anger over an alleged N585 million scandal.
Prior to the cabinet reshuffling, there were speculations that the suspended minister may return to the government.
The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said on Sunday that “Betta Edu is gone.”
He further revealed that, the president has appointed her replacement from Plateau State.
In his words: “Betta Edu is gone. Her position has been taken by someone from Plateau State. As far as this government is concerned, there is no place for her in this cabinet.
“The EFCC has not shared what they have but if you go by what the president has done, it shows that EFCC must have submitted something that actually justified that suspension.”
