Eduvate Africa has announced the commencement of applications for its 2026 Students Exchange Fellowship, a four-week Pan-African virtual programme designed to equip secondary school students with essential leadership, innovation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The fellowship, scheduled to hold in August 2026, is open to students aged 14 to 18 years in Grades 10–12 (SS1–SS3) across Africa.

According to the organisers, the programme aims to complement academic learning by exposing participants to interactive sessions, mentorship opportunities, teamwork exercises, leadership simulations, and innovation projects that prepare young people for future challenges and opportunities.

Throughout the fellowship, participants will learn how to lead with confidence, think creatively, solve real-world problems, collaborate effectively with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds, develop emotional intelligence and communication skills, and transform innovative ideas into practical solutions.

Students will also work in teams with their counterparts from different African countries to design solutions addressing challenges in critical sectors such as health, education, agriculture, renewable energy, climate action, and community development.

At the end of the programme, participants are expected to have strengthened their leadership abilities, enhanced their innovation and entrepreneurial thinking, improved teamwork and communication skills, gained exposure to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), completed a real-world innovation project, and benefited from mentorship by experienced professionals.

Successful participants will also receive certificates of participation in recognition of their involvement and achievements during the fellowship.

Describing the initiative as more than a summer programme, Eduvate Africa said the fellowship is designed to help young people discover their potential, broaden their perspectives, and develop the skills needed to create meaningful impact within their communities and beyond.

Applications are currently open and will close on July 20, 2026.
