Erstwhile presidential spokesperson and politician, Dr. Doyin Okupe, has died.
This was confirmed today, Friday, March 7, 2025.
Okupe, who once served as the Director-General of Peter Obi’s presidential campaign, was forced to step down following a money laundering conviction. After the 2023 general election, he resigned from the Labour Party and later emerged as a strong supporter of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
A seasoned politician and media strategist, Okupe also served as a senior adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
His death marks the end of an era in Nigeria’s political communications.
