Former Deputy Governors Mourn Bayelsa Deputy Governor
The Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria (FFDGN) has commiserated with the Government and people of Bayelsa State over the death of the state’s Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
In a letter of condolence addressed to Governor Douye Diri, the Forum, on behalf of its Board of Trustees, National Executive Committee and entire membership, expressed deep sorrow over what it described as a painful and profound loss to Bayelsa State and the nation at large.
The Forum said the late Ewhrudjakpo’s passing was not only a devastating blow to his immediate family but also to Bayelsa State and Nigeria, considering his dedication to public service and his contributions to governance and national development.
According to the letter, the deceased was an active Associate Member of the Forum who remained committed to the ideals of service, unity and development.
The condolence message, jointly signed by the National Chairman of the Forum, H.E. Dr. Chris Akomas; Deputy National Chairman (North), H.E. Mukhtar Anka; and Deputy National Chairman (South), H.E. Hazeem Gbolarumi, conveyed the Forum’s solidarity with the Bayelsa State Government, the bereaved family, political associates and all those affected by the loss.
The Forum prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed Deputy Governor’s soul and asked God to grant Governor Diri, the government, his family and the good people of Bayelsa State the strength and fortitude to bear what it described as an irreplaceable loss.
Until his death, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo remained an active Associate Member of the Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria.
