Imo Landlord Arrested For Shooting 12 Year Old Boy

Tragedy strucked in Owerri, the Imo State capital, when a landlord shot a 12-year-old boy, Paul, who had jumped into his compound to retrieve a football. The incident occurred on Monday during a game at the Urban Secondary School field in Area N, World Bank Housing Estate.

According to eyewitnesses, the football had bounced into the landlord’s property, and Paul, a JSS 1 student, attempted to retrieve it. The landlord, whose identity has not been disclosed, shot Paul in the waist, leaving him critically injured.

The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the landlord, with Police Public Relations Officer Henry Okoye stating that an investigation is ongoing. Paul is currently receiving treatment at a hospital, where he is scheduled to undergo surgery to address complications with his bowel movements.

Paul’s guardian, Jonathan Odikanwa, expressed concern for the boy’s well-being, saying, “I just want my boy to survive this critical period. We are praying for his recovery and ask that everyone joins us in praying for his survival.”
