Chukwu was elected during the party’s congress held in Umuahia today, marking what party stakeholders have described as a new phase in the rebuilding and repositioning of the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, George Egejuru, and made available to newsmen, Erondu Jnr described Chukwu’s emergence as “well-deserved and worthwhile,” noting that it reflects the confidence party faithfuls repose in his leadership capacity.

The former Chairman, Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA) expressed strong optimism that the new chairman possesses the competence, experience and political sagacity required to reposition the APC in Abia State and galvanise members toward victory in 2027.

“Hon. Chukwu has demonstrated over time that he has the capacity to provide purposeful leadership. His emergence at this critical time in the life of our party is a welcome development and a defining moment for the APC in Abia,” the statement read.

Erondu Jnr further noted that the current unity within the party signals a renewed sense of direction and cohesion, stressing that the APC is now better structured to compete effectively in Abia State, the South-East region and Nigeria at large.

According to him, “With the growing unity and renewed commitment among party leaders and members, the APC is firmly on course to cruise to victory in the 2027 general elections.”

The Obingwa-West legislator also pledged his unalloyed support and loyalty to the party and its leadership in the state, assuring the new chairman of his readiness to work collaboratively to strengthen party structures across all levels.

He called on party faithfuls to close ranks, remain steadfast and support the new leadership in order to consolidate internal reconciliation efforts and present a formidable front in future elections.

Erondu Jnr wished the new chairman a successful tenure, expressing confidence that his leadership would usher in greater cohesion, strategic growth and electoral success for the APC in Abia State.
