Lawmaker, Erondu Jnr Salutes Women’s Courage, Resilience On Int’l Women’s Day
The Chairman, House Committee on Public Service, Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr has hailed women’s unwavering courage and resilience in the face of adversity.
In a release signed by his Spokesperson, George Egejuru and made available to newsmen today in commemoration of 2025 International Women’s Day (IWD), the member representing Obingwa-West State constituency in ABHA, acknowledged the vital contributions of women in nation building via their transformative impact and community engagement.
The former chairman, Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA), who described the 2025 theme: ‘For all Women and Girls: Right. Equality. Empowerment ‘, as apt, called on government at all levels to prioritize equal rights, power and opportunities for all.
The former Director, Enyimba FC, underscored the importance of universal rights and opportunities, adding that it would ensure that every woman and girl can contribute to a more equitable future.
The Uhie-born legislator, also urged corporate leaders, community leaders, civil society among others, to invest in promoting women’s rights and gender equality, maintaining that empowering women and girls are catalysts for lasting change.
Erondu Jnr further expressed optimism that a gender equal world; free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination but all inclusive is possible.
In his words: “On behalf of my family and the good people of Obingwa-West State constituency, I wish women across the globe a memorable 2025 International Women’s Day celebration”.
