The Member representing Ukwa East State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Lewis Obianyi, has congratulated mothers across the world as they celebrate 2026 Mothering Sunday, commending their invaluable contributions to families, communities, and national development.
In a goodwill message issued on Sunday, Hon. Obianyi described mothers as inspiring, courageous, reliable, and supportive pillars whose sacrifices continue to shape the moral and social fabric of society.
According to him, the role played by mothers in nurturing children, sustaining families, and promoting peace and stability within communities cannot be overemphasized.
He noted that mothers remain a source of strength, encouragement, and guidance, adding that their dedication and resilience deserve recognition and appreciation not only on Mothering Sunday but every day.
The lawmaker further applauded the selfless efforts of mothers in raising responsible citizens and contributing to the growth and development of society.
Hon. Obianyi also prayed that God Almighty would continue to bless mothers with good health, wisdom, and strength to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
He urged families and communities to continually honour and support mothers for their enduring sacrifices and love.
