NDDC Set To Host Sports Festival In Akwa-Ibom
Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has disclosed that the Niger Delta Sports Festival will be hosted in Akwa Ibom State.
This, he said is aimed at promoting unity and engagement among the region’s diverse communities.
The Managing Director, NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku revealed this during a visit to Governor Umo Eno.
Dr. Ogbuku emphasised the festival’s role in addressing common ecological and economic challenges, while empowering youth and fostering regional integration through sports.
The event will feature 20 different sports, attracting athletes from across the Niger Delta and providing a platform for showcasing their talents.
Governor Eno strongly supports the initiative, highlighting its potential to boost local businesses and encourage community involvement. A committee will collaborate with the NDDC to ensure the festival’s success and create a positive local impact.
As anticipation builds, local schools and sports clubs are encouraged to participate, hoping the festival will inspire young athletes to aspire for international representation.
