The suspects were arrested following intelligence-led operations by police operatives, according to the command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade.

Ayanlade disclosed the arrests in a statement issued on Saturday, August 15, 2026, saying the operation led to the recovery of suspected human body parts and other items believed to be connected to the activities under investigation.

Items recovered from the suspects included one suspected human heart, human flesh, pieces of suspected human skull and assorted charms.

The police said the recovered exhibits had been secured and would be subjected to forensic examination as investigations continue.

The command identified the suspects as Adam Ibrahim, Nasiru Kabiru, Tijani Wasiu, Abiola Nasiru, Amusa Gbadamosi, Raheem Taofeek, Jimoh Muritala, Suleiman Busari, Ganiyu Nurudeen and Usman Abdullahi.

The arrests have heightened concerns over the alleged activities of individuals involved in the illegal possession and trade in human body parts in parts of Oyo State.

The police said further details would be made available as the investigation progresses.

The suspects are expected to face prosecution if investigations establish their involvement in the alleged offences.

The police also reiterated its commitment to tackling criminal activities and urged members of the public to provide useful information that could assist security agencies in identifying and apprehending persons involved in violent crime and other unlawful activities.
