Rivers Crisis: Fubara Allegedly Forms Secret Alliance With Amaechi, Otti, Others

As the crisis between the Governor of Rivers State, Similaiyi Fubara and the immediate past Governor of Rivers State and Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, persist, information at some quarters has it that Gov Fubara, whose election victory was recently upheld by the Appeal Court, is allegedly holding secret meetings with the former Minister for Transport,Rotimi Amaechi and the Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti.

According to a source who spoke in anonymity, disclosed that the embattled Fubara in a recent chat with the former Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, narrated his fears over his political future.

It was gathered that Gov Fubara was advised to establish and maintain close relationships with some Governors, especially the Governor of Abia State, given that he is the only Labour Party Governor and par-adventure he loses the PDP ticket for his second tenure,he can contest under the platform of the LP.

The meeting which our source disclosed was held in Portharcourt, Rivers State, had part of its agenda to include the politics of Rivers State and Nigeria come 2027.

Our source also revealed that strategies were made on how to systematically make Rivers and Abia states, the political base of the Labour Party ahead of the 2027 general elections, revealing the intentions of Rotimi Amaechi to support Peter Obi or contest the 2027 presidency under the LP.
