Women from across Rivers State, under the banner of Rivers Women Unite for SIM, gathered at the Ecumenical Centre in Port Harcourt yesterday, (Thursday, May 29, 2025) to mark the second anniversary of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration with a thanksgiving service.
The event was filled with songs of praise and prayers as the women expressed gratitude for what they described as Governor Fubara’s steadfast leadership amidst the political challenges facing the state.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Dr. Queen Idanyingi Karibi-Botoye applauded Governor Fubara’s resilience and dedication to the state, noting that despite the prevailing circumstances, he has demonstrated remarkable capacity in leadership.
“This thanksgiving is our way of appreciating what God has done through our governor. We believe this is a season of restoration, peace, and reconciliation in Rivers State,” Karibi-Botoye said.
The group also commended the people of Rivers State and other Nigerians for their continued support for Governor Fubara during what they described as “trying times.”
The women called on political leaders to put aside their differences and prioritize the well-being of the state. They pledged to continue in fervent prayers for the governor, the leadership, and the entire state, believing that God will restore the glory of Rivers and foster unity among its people.
The thanksgiving service was part of a series of events to commemorate Governor Fubara’s two years in office.
