President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has engaged prominent Nigerian industrialist and global energy investor, Prince Arthur Eze, in a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating market-driven economic growth through the commercialisation of research and innovation outcomes in Nigeria.
The initiative, announced in a statement on Thursday by the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology (FMIST), was facilitated by the Minister, Dr. Kingsley Tochi Udeh, during a high-level strategic engagement. The meeting underscored the Tinubu administration’s commitment to strengthening collaboration between government, industry leaders, and influential national stakeholders to transform scientific research into commercially viable products and services.
According to the Ministry, the partnership is designed to harness innovation, indigenous capacity, and emerging technologies to boost industrialisation, expand job creation, and position Nigeria as a competitive player in the global knowledge economy. Dr. Udeh emphasised that sustained engagement with respected industry figures and global business leaders is critical to shaping effective policies, mobilising investment, and ensuring that research outputs translate into tangible socio-economic benefits.
The Minister reiterated the Ministry’s readiness to work closely with Chief Technology Officers, innovators, and private-sector players to bridge the gap between research institutions and the marketplace, ensuring that Nigerian innovations achieve commercial success.
Prince Arthur Eze, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Atlas Oranto Petroleum, commended President Tinubu for what he described as a forward-looking decision in appointing Dr. Udeh to lead the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology. He praised the Minister’s leadership style, humility, and commitment to national development, noting that the Ministry’s vision aligns with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Eze reaffirmed his personal commitment to initiatives that promote technological advancement, youth empowerment, and inclusive economic growth driven by innovation and industrial development. He called on Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to continue supporting the Tinubu administration to ensure the full realisation of its policy objectives.
In a vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Philip Ebiogeh Ndiomu, expressed appreciation to Prince Eze for his continued support for national development. He stated that the Ministry would remain focused on engaging visionary business and political leaders whose experience, influence, and investment capacity can help convert research and innovation into measurable economic and social progress.
