Prominent billionaire investor and philanthropist, Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, has joined leaders of the Ukwa La Ngwa region in endorsing Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, for a second term in 2027, lauding his transformative leadership and developmental achievements across the state.
Speaking with Journalists at a Grand Civic Reception held at Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, Dr. Anyaso, popularly known as Ofuji Ndị Igbo, said Governor Otti had fundamentally shifted the trajectory of Abia’s economy and governance.
In his words: “Governor Otti is truly deserving of these accolades. He has profoundly transformed the narrative of Abia across nearly every sector, justifying the confidence the people have placed in him.”
The event, organized by the Ukwa La Ngwa Bloc, served as both a celebration of Otti’s achievements and a public declaration of support for his 2027 re-election bid. Leadership of the bloc also pledged to personally fund the purchase of his nomination forms.
In his address, Governor Otti expressed deep gratitude for the reception, emphasizing the significance of recognition from his own people.
“There is a saying that a prophet is without honour in his own country,” Otti said. “The best reception is the one from our own people. I sincerely thank the organizers and those who have pledged to purchase the 2027 nomination form. This support is not taken for granted.”
Earlier in his remark, the spokesperson for the Ukwa La Ngwa people, Chief Theo Nkire, commended the Governor for revolutionizing the state’s economy, particularly transforming Aba into an emerging industrial hub.
The endorsement was further strengthened by the traditional rulers of the Ukwa La Ngwa Nation, who presented symbolic gifts to the Governor. In a joint declaration, the monarchs pledged unwavering support for his administration, asserting that the region would “not go back to Egypt”; a reference to previous political eras.
The reception drew a large turnout of dignitaries, captains of industry, and political stakeholders from across Nigeria, reflecting a unified front behind Governor Otti’s Rebuilding Abia agenda.
