NYCN Holds Thanksgiving Service for Judicial Victory
Members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), led by its President, Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, on Sunday, June 28, 2026, held a special thanksgiving service at Salvation Ministries, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to appreciate God for the recent court victory that reaffirmed the council’s leadership.

The thanksgiving service, attracted members of the National Executive Council, Board of Trustees, National Advisory Council, state chairmen, traditional rulers and other stakeholders of the apex youth body from across the country.

Ministering during the service, the Founder and Presiding Pastor of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, charged Christians to cultivate the habit of expressing gratitude to God in all circumstances, stressing that everything people possess comes from God.
According to him, thanksgiving is the key to divine increase and continuous blessings.
“Always show gratitude to God in all things. Whatever you have was given to you by God in the first instance. God will always increase thanksgivers,” Pastor Ibiyeomie declared.

Speaking at the event, the NYCN President, Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, said the thanksgiving service was organised to return all glory to God following the council’s recent judicial victory, in which the court nullified the Corporate Affairs Commission’s (CAC) deregistration of the organisation and ordered the reinstatement of its duly recognised national executives.

He noted that the judgment restored the Sukubo-led executive, bringing an end to the legal dispute over the leadership and legal status of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.
Sukubo reaffirmed the commitment of his leadership to advancing the interests and welfare of Nigerian youths through responsible, purposeful and inclusive leadership.

Also speaking, the NYCN Chairman, Abia State Chapter, Comrade Sylvanus Smith Onyenaturuchi, described the court judgment as a divine intervention, saying it underscored God’s faithfulness to the council.

“It is a victory from God for the apex youth body in Nigeria, and we do not take it for granted. That is why members gathered from across the nation and beyond to return all the glory to God Almighty for this uncommon feat,” he said.
