‘Rescue Us’: Kidnapped Father, Wife and Three-Month-Old Baby Appeal for Help
A family consisting of a father, his wife and their three-month-old baby has reportedly appealed for help after being abducted from their home in Millennium City, Kaduna metropolis.
The case was reported on October 14 by The Guardian Nigeria, which cited the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA). The family was identified as that of Ahmed Zakka, and a video reportedly showed the father carrying the infant while he and his wife pleaded for assistance.
The reported abduction has drawn attention to the vulnerability of families caught up in kidnapping incidents, particularly when infants and other dependants are involved.
For relatives and friends, such cases can create an agonising period of uncertainty. Families may struggle to establish contact, determine the captives’ condition or understand what action could help secure their release.
The involvement of a three-month-old child makes the reported situation especially concerning because infants depend entirely on adults for feeding, hygiene, comfort and protection.
HURIWA urged the Federal Government and security authorities to prioritise efforts to secure the family’s release. The identities and affiliations of the abductors had not been independently established in the report.
Authorities should investigate the incident, establish the family’s whereabouts and pursue appropriate measures to secure their safe return. Any claims about the perpetrators or their motives should be treated cautiously until verified.
The case also raises broader concerns about the protection of residents in urban communities and the need for timely responses to abductions.
For the family, the appeal is ultimately about survival and reunion: a father, mother and infant who should be safe in their home, but who have reportedly been placed in the hands of abductors.
