2027: Youth Group Funds Azubuike’s Aba Reps Bid
The Organised Youths Organisation (OYO) has thrown its weight behind the 2027 House of Representatives ambition of former federal lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Uzor Azubuike, donating ₦100,000 to support his bid to represent Aba North and Aba South Federal Constituency.
The financial contribution was announced by the organisation’s Secretary, Comrade Idika Okoro, during an engagement with Azubuike and his entourage, where members reaffirmed their commitment to his political aspiration ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Okoro said the donation reflected the organisation’s confidence in Azubuike and its willingness to contribute to the success of his return to the National Assembly. He recalled the sacrifices members had made during his previous political engagements and urged the former lawmaker to sustain a mutually beneficial relationship with the group.
The OYO President, Kings Joe Akoma, also welcomed Azubuike and his entourage, assuring him of the organisation’s support while urging him to remain committed to the interests and welfare of its members.

Responding, Azubuike expressed appreciation for the group’s continued loyalty and support, appealing to members to renew their confidence in his ambition and work towards securing victory for him in 2027.
The APC candidate assured the youths that their support would translate into people-centred representation, greater access to opportunities and improved development across the constituency.

Recalling his legislative service between 2011 and 2015, Azubuike said he made efforts to attract federal opportunities and development projects to the constituency, noting that his interventions created openings for individuals and communities in employment, political appointments, education and other areas.
He acknowledged the challenges associated with his previous political experience but said the encouragement he continued to receive from supporters had strengthened his determination to return to the National Assembly.

Azubuike further pledged to maintain a harmonious working relationship with whoever emerges as governor of Abia State, irrespective of political affiliation, stressing that political differences should not hinder access to government programmes and development opportunities.
He also urged OYO members to extend their mobilisation efforts to other APC candidates, noting that coordinated representation across the various levels of government would promote development.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for members to commend APC chieftain and member representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, Esq., for his empowerment initiatives.
Among the projects highlighted were the construction of houses for about 50 widows and the distribution of more than 100 vehicles and approximately 500 motorcycles to beneficiaries across Abia South Senatorial District.
A speaker at the gathering hailed Erondu for extending his empowerment programmes beyond party lines, noting that beneficiaries included members of the PDP, APC and Labour Party under what was described as a rainbow coalition.
The speaker urged political officeholders to utilise their positions to create opportunities for others rather than concentrate political benefits and privileges in the hands of a few.
The engagement formed part of ongoing consultations and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
