Late First Lady: Akwa-Ibom Declares Nov 29 Work-Free Day
Friday November 29, 2024 has been declared as a work-free day in honour of the late first lady, Mrs Patience Umo Eno by the Akwa Ibom State government has declared
Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah announced this in a statement in Uyo, yesterday, adding that the decision was to enable Akwa Ibom people and other well wishes pay their last respect to the late first lady of the state.
Recall that Mrs Patience Eno passed away on September,2024 after a brief sickness and would be laid to rest at her husband’s (governor) hometown, Ikot Ekpene Udo, in Nsit-Ibium Local government area of the state on November 29.
The statement read, “Further to the final home-going programme of our departed First Lady, Her Excellency, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno, the Akwa Ibom State Government in consultation with the bereaved family has declared Friday, 29th November, 2024, work-free day in honour of our dear mother.
“This is to enable Akwa-Ibomites to pay their last respect to our mother at her obsequies in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of the state on that day.
“May the gentle soul of our departed first lady find repose in the bosom of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.”
