The Chairman, House Committee on Public Service in the Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, has joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

In a goodwill message signed by his spokesperson, George Egejuru, and made available to newsmen, the lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State Constituency congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all Nigerians on what he described as “65 years of resilience, unity, and shared hope as a people.”

Erondu Jnr urged governments at all levels to use the milestone as a reminder of the urgent need to prioritize the welfare of women and youths, stressing that they remain the most affected by the current economic realities in the country.

The former Chairman, Obingwa Local Government Area further encouraged citizens not to despair but to sustain their prayers and collective faith in the nation’s progress.

“As Nigeria marks 65 years of nationhood, we must not lose sight of the fact that our strength lies in our unity and in the collective welfare of our people. Women and youths deserve greater attention in policy and governance because they are the worst hit by the prevailing economic challenges. I urge every Nigerian to remain hopeful, resilient, and prayerful, as there is surely light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.

The former Director, Enyimba FC, also called on leaders at all tiers of government to demonstrate renewed commitment to good governance, accountability, and the delivery of people-oriented policies that will restore confidence in the nation’s democracy.

The Uhie-born legislator prayed for continued peace, stability, and prosperity for the Federal Republic of Nigeria as it journeys into the future.
