The member representing Ukwa East State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Lewis Obianyi, has urged students from Ukwa East Local Government Area to remain focused, resilient and diligent in their academic pursuits at Dr Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic in Aba.
Obianyi gave the advice today while attending the matriculation ceremony of 10 students from the area who are beneficiaries of the second phase of his scholarship programme at the institution.
The lawmaker said the scholarship initiative was aimed at supporting young people from Ukwa East to access quality education and build a better future for themselves and their communities.
He encouraged the students to make the most of the opportunity by dedicating themselves fully to their studies, while also urging them to shun social vices that could distract them from achieving their goals.
Obianyi further stressed that education remains the bedrock of personal success and community development, noting that empowering young people through learning is key to sustainable progress in Ukwa East.
The beneficiaries, drawn from the 10 wards in the local government area, expressed appreciation for the lawmaker’s support and for attending their matriculation, describing his presence as a strong motivation to strive for academic excellence.
