Tinubu, Hichilema Lead Abuja World PR Forum
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria and President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia have accepted prominent roles at the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) slated for Abuja in November.
The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, in a statement issued in Portugal, confirmed Tinubu as Chief Host and Hichilema as Keynote Speaker for the global event.

President of the Global Alliance, Prof. Justin Green, said the involvement of the two African leaders underscores the continent’s readiness to host a landmark public relations gathering. He described the forthcoming forum as “the biggest, brightest and boldest” in the history of the profession.
Green also announced that the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications, Melissa Fleming, and INTERPOL’s Director of Communications, Samuel Heath, will feature among speakers at the week-long programme.
The forum, scheduled for November 15 to 21, will be held under the theme, “Responsible Communication: The Voice of the World.” According to Green, the theme aligns with ongoing advocacy to recognise responsible communication as the 18th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).
He assured that the Global Alliance would provide full support to Nigeria in hosting the event, which is expected to draw participants from more than 126 countries.
In his reaction, President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku, said the institute is working closely with the African Public Relations Association (APRA) and other professional bodies across the continent to deliver a world-class forum.
“We are collaborating with partners across Africa to present a unique and outstanding event to the global community,” he said.
The WPRF is a leading international platform that brings together communication professionals, policymakers and stakeholders to promote excellence and global best practices in public relations.
