Aba, the commercial nerve of Abia State was recently agog as the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and member representing Obingwa West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr., Esq., inaugurated the Aba North and Aba South chapters of the Abia South Mass Movement for Tinubu 2027 (AMM Tinubu 2027).
The separate inauguration ceremonies held yesterday, attracted party leaders, stakeholders and supporters, as local government executives and ward coordinators of the movement were formally inaugurated and charged to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The movement, powered by Erondu through the Igodo Igwe Foundation, is aimed at strengthening the APC’s presence across communities, wards and polling units in the Abia South Senatorial District, while mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Erondu and other APC candidates.
Speaking through the Director-General of the Erondu4Senate Organisation, Elder Obioma Godwin Nna, Erondu described the inauguration as a major step towards building a formidable grassroots political structure across the commercial city of Aba.
He urged the newly inaugurated leaders to regard their appointments as a call to service and responsibility, stressing that they must remain committed, disciplined and united in taking the message of the APC and the programmes of the Tinubu-led administration to the grassroots.
According to him, the success of the party in the 2027 general elections would depend on sustained engagement with the people and the ability of party faithful to build effective structures across communities and polling units.
Erondu, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Public Service Matters, urged members and supporters to remain peaceful, united and steadfast, maintaining that the movement would remain focused on strengthening the APC across Abia South.
He expressed confidence that the mandate freely given to him and the member representing Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency, Hon. Chris Nkwonta, during the APC Abia South direct primaries would be restored through the courts.
At the inauguration, Uba Omenazu was named Coordinator for Aba North Local Government Area, while Hope Ogbonna emerged Coordinator for Aba South Local Government Area.
The newly inaugurated coordinators thanked Erondu and the leadership of the movement for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to build strong grassroots structures that would mobilise support for President Tinubu, Erondu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Contributing, former federal lawmaker and former Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emeka Stanley said the positions entrusted to them were responsibilities rather than privileges, stressing that the success of the movement would depend largely on their ability to remain close to the people and sustain the APC’s message across their communities.
In their separate remarks, APC candidates for Aba North and Aba South Federal Constituency, Hon. Uzor Azubuike, former information Commissioner in Abia State, Chief Don Ubani and the former APC Zonal Chairman, Hon. Monday Chikezirim Orji, described the inauguration as a strategic step towards expanding the APC’s grassroots base in Abia South.
The said unity, discipline and continuous engagement with the people would remain critical to the party’s success, urging the newly inaugurated leaders to discharge their responsibilities with dedication.
Other APC leaders, candidates and stakeholders, in their remarks congratulated the new coordinators and pledged to support the growth and expansion of the movement.
The inauguration of the Aba North and Aba South chapters is expected to further strengthen the Abia South Mass Movement for Tinubu 2027 as preparations gather momentum for the 2027 general elections.
