The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has announced the rescheduling of its Ward and Local Government Congresses to Wednesday, February 25, 2026, and Thursday, February 26, 2026, respectively.

According to the party, the State Congress and other scheduled activities remain unchanged. The State Congress will hold on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, while the Zonal Congress is slated for Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The party’s National Convention will take place on Friday, March 27, and Saturday, March 28, 2026.

The Ward Congress had earlier been suspended due to internal party friction. However, party leaders say the issues have now been amicably resolved, paving the way for the rescheduled congresses.

Party officials expressed optimism that the fresh dates will allow for a more inclusive and transparent process, assuring members of a peaceful and credible exercise across all wards and local government areas of the state.

The Abia chapter of the APC noted that the reconciliation efforts have strengthened internal cohesion, describing the development as a turning point for the party’s growth and consolidation in the state.

Leaders of the party maintained that a bigger, stronger, and more united APC has emerged from the recent challenges, reaffirming their commitment to internal democracy and collective progress.

They further stated that the party’s current momentum in Abia State is “unstoppable and irreversible,” expressing confidence that the congresses will further solidify its structure ahead of the forthcoming State, Zonal, and National gatherings.

Party members and stakeholders have been urged to remain steadfast, law-abiding, and committed to the ideals of the APC as preparations intensify for the series of congresses.
