Anyaso, Gov Otti, Legal Icons Celebrate SAN Conferment on Abia Attorney General
Eminent Nigerians and legal luminaries converged in Abuja as Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, popularly known as Ofuji Ndi Igbo, joined Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, and other high-profile dignitaries to celebrate the conferment of the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) on Abia Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ikechukwu Uwanna.
The event attracted distinguished personalities, including the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), justices of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, Federal and FCT High Courts, and the Chief Judge of Abia State, Hon. Justice Lilian Abai.
Dr. Anyaso, an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and political leader, described Uwanna’s elevation as a “well-deserved recognition of excellence, integrity, and service to the law.”
Fresh from hosting the week-long IRI JI OFUJI 2025 Festival in Abia, Anyaso travelled from Lagos to Abuja for the occasion, hailing Uwanna as “a remarkable gift from Abia North to Nigeria.” He urged the new SAN to remain courageous and steadfast amid growing scrutiny of the judiciary.
“It is your moment. There are many voices against the judiciary today, but you must be resolute and shine as a leading light in this new attainment,” he said.
Anyaso also commended Governor Otti for appointing a “remarkably talented and dynamic Chief Law Officer” to lead Abia’s justice system, stressing that the milestone reflected not just a personal triumph for Uwanna but also the growing influence of Abians in the nation’s legal and governance space.
The conferment was celebrated as a triumph of merit, dedication, and professional excellence.
