Prominent philanthropist and founder of the Ofuji Foundation, Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, has marked his 45th birthday with a familiarization visit to the Mayor of Bende Local Government Area, Deacon Uwabunkonye Bassey, and council staff.
The visit, which coincided with the Iriji Festival celebrations organized by the Ofuji Foundation, served as both a courtesy call and a gesture of solidarity with the local government leadership and workforce.
Addressing staff at the council headquarters, Dr. Anyaso commended Mayor Bassey for notable achievements recorded within a short time in office. He described the visible progress in Bende as part of the wider transformation agenda of Governor Alex Otti, urging workers to continue supporting both the governor and the mayor to sustain the momentum.
In his remarks, Mayor Bassey hailed Dr. Anyaso as a “true son of Bende” who has consistently invested in community development and uplifted lives across the state. He further disclosed plans to convene a stakeholders’ summit to map out strategies for attracting more development to the LGA.
Other speakers, including Hon. Chidiebere Chukwu, Deputy Leader of the Bende Legislative Council, and Mr. Okechukwu, Chairman of the local chapter of NULGE, applauded Dr. Anyaso’s philanthropic impact and prayed for God’s continued blessings upon him.
The event, which featured reflections on leadership and grassroots growth, ended with the cutting of Dr. Anyaso’s birthday cake alongside the mayor and council staff.
