APC Support Groups Seek Strategic Alliances Ahead of 2027

The Coalition of APC Support Groups National Coordinators has begun moves to deepen collaboration with established political support organisations and other stakeholders as it works to strengthen its grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The coalition made this known during a courtesy visit by its national executive members to the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the National Assembly Library Trust Fund (NALTF), Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba, in Abuja.

Nwawuba’s position as Executive Secretary/CEO of the NALTF is confirmed by the institution’s official website.

Led by its National Convener, Comrade Richard M. Onyebuwa, the delegation presented the coalition’s vision and objectives and sought guidance on building strategic relationships with relevant stakeholders.

Onyebuwa said the coalition was established to provide a platform for APC support groups and their national coordinators to coordinate their activities, strengthen grassroots structures and promote greater cooperation among member organisations.

He said the coalition was particularly interested in partnerships that could support grassroots engagement, leadership development, organisational capacity building and other programmes.

In his response, Nwawuba urged the coalition to develop a credible and sustainable organisational framework, while emphasising the importance of strategic partnerships in achieving its objectives.

He also advised the group to explore collaboration with established support organisations, including the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), led by Hon. James Abiodun Faleke. The TSG’s official website identifies Faleke as its Convener.

Nwawuba further encouraged the coalition to identify legitimate and sustainable funding sources to support its programmes and organisational activities.

The engagement also touched on political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, including support-group coordination around President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the National Director-General of the coalition’s Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. AlHassan Mohammed Baba, expressed appreciation to Nwawuba for receiving the group and sharing his views.

Baba said the advice received during the meeting would be considered as the coalition continues to develop its structures, programmes and relationships with stakeholders.

He added that the visit formed part of the coalition’s broader efforts to build a coordinated network of APC support-group leaders across the country.

The meeting ended with a group photograph after Nwawuba requested that the engagement be concluded due to other official commitments.

The coalition said it would sustain its consultations with relevant stakeholders as it develops its committees, programmes and grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 political season.
