Delta Trag£dy: Bereaved Mother Accuses Police of KiIIing Two Sons

The mother of 28-year-old musician, Oghenemine Ogidi, popularly known as OG Millan, has alleged that she has lost two sons in separate incidents involving police officers, following the recent fatal shooting of her son in Delta State.

In an emotional video circulating online, the grieving mother broke down in tears during a condolence visit by a former aide to the Delta State Government, Harrison Gwamnishu, recounting her ordeal.

“My two children were killed by the police. They first took my son in 2022, and now they have taken another one from me again. How do I survive this?” she lamented.

Her latest claim comes amid widespread outrage over the killing of Ogidi, who was allegedly shot by an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Nuhu Usman, during an operation in Effurun.

The Nigeria Police Force has since confirmed the arrest of the officer, stating that he acted in violation of established rules of engagement.

According to police authorities, the victim—identified in official reports as Mene Ogidi—was apprehended following intelligence that he was attempting to transport a parcel containing a Beretta pistol and ammunition.

However, a viral video that sparked public outrage appears to show the victim restrained with his hands tied behind his back before he was shot at close range.

The Inspector-General of Police has approved the dismissal and prosecution of the officer, alongside other members of his team, after a disciplinary review found serious violations of police regulations.

Police authorities have assured the public that justice will be served, reiterating their zero-tolerance stance on extra-judicial killings and abuse of power.

The incident has continued to generate reactions across the country, with calls for accountability and reforms in police conduct.
