Former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has expressed confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will overcome its current challenges and emerge stronger both nationally and at the state level.

Ikpeazu gave the assurance during a courtesy visit to the PDP National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, at his Abuja residence as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day anniversary.

He noted that the PDP has remained a formidable political force despite setbacks, stressing its resilience and ability to reinvent itself.

“The PDP has gone through storms in the past and has always found the strength to reinvent itself. I have no doubt that, working together, we will come out stronger and more united to serve Nigerians better,” Ikpeazu said.

The former governor, accompanied by the Abia State PDP Chairman, Elder Amah Abraham, and Abia South Zonal Vice Chairman, Enyinnaya Appolos, reaffirmed the commitment of Abia PDP to the growth and repositioning of the party.

In his response, Senator Anyanwu commended Ikpeazu’s loyalty and steadfastness, describing him as a strong pillar of support for the PDP at both the state and national levels.

“At a time when some are abandoning the ship, you have remained steadfast. That is the true spirit of leadership and party loyalty,” Anyanwu said, adding that the party’s national leadership is working to reconcile members, strengthen cohesion, and rebuild public confidence.

According to him, Nigerians still see the PDP as a credible alternative, and the party will not disappoint them.
