That Unfounded Allegation By FCT Minister, Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON, GSSRS Is False – RivWEJ.

After due evaluation of the media chat on Friday, November 24, 2023 of the immediate past governor and Minister of the FCT, Chief Barr Nyesom Wike, we the Rivers Women for Equity and Justice (RivWEJ) became a bit sceptical of the intentions, whether it was for peace or for war.

This is because we were taken aback by the outright bitterness and unwarranted attacks on His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara despite all the peaceful rapproachment of Gov. Fubara since after the Presidential intervention and efforts of well-meaning Nigerians on this matter.

It is on record that His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has shown in every intents and purposes that he values peace and respects the intervention of Mr. President and peaceful moves of notable friends of both parties and well meaning Nigerians. He demonstrated this first, in a Press Statement titled “Peace is Priceless” and published across several media platforms and national dailies. He never undermined the truce brokered by Mr. President or that of other parties that intervened till date.

However, every body language, speech and action of the former governor and Minister continued to show strife and bitterness of a sort and spoiling for war. The climax of it was at the book launch of a former Chief Judge of the State, Justice Iche Ndu at the Rivers State University, wherein some utterances were made and at several meetings he held with diverse groups as contained in his media chat of Friday, November 24.

We never wanted to join issues with him, but for this unfounded accusation of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara of sending people to burn down the hallowed chamber of the State House of Assembly and not abiding by Mr. President’s brokered peace deal. Though Sir Siminalayi Fubara is not given to reacting to every issue, it is obvious that at the appropriate time if he considers any matter critical he would definitely dispense with it adequately.

It is on record that His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara is one man that adores peace and would do anything to guarantee every moment of peace and tranquility. To therefore make such allegation that he sent people is, a clear misinformation intended to malign the person of his Excellency.

He is never and not desperate, and this should be for the records that the same desperate politicians plotting his removal are responsible for chaos in the state in order to carry out their clandestine plans.

It is unfortunate that the Minister could make such utterances on a national television whereas the Nigeria Police is already investigating. Such allegation smacks of conspiracy of the highest order just as his statements in the media chat showed total violation and disrespect for Mr. President’s directive on the matter.

It is needless to react to other issues, because only God knows the heart of men. His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara is not desperate and not an ingrate as is being painted by the FCT Minister and his Co-travellers

We therefore ask the general public not to take notice of such unfounded allegations and we strongly advise that they completely disregard them as it is all false and untrue. They are concocted to orchestrate a needless war against His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara which amounts to “giving a dog a bad name in order to hang it.”

There is no gain saying the fact that Chief Nyesom Wike played his part in the emergence of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, that is not a justification to willfully malign and attempt to rubbish his person for no concrete reason. By Wike’s parabolic answers and dodgy responses to the vexing question by Rivers people of the real offence of Gov. Fubara especially the purported structures, he may have violated, speaks more than meets the eye.

It is obvious that Nigerians, Rivers people and the entire world apparently know the truth from the actions of the two leaders and could easily tell who is genuinely out for peace.

It is also strange for Nigerians to believe that the same man who expressed absolute confidence in Sir Siminalayi Fubara, can turn around in just 5 months to hunt him.

It is the facts on ground that we the Rivers Women for Equity and Justice (RivWEJ) have laid bare before the people. Let the public be the judge. Let’s stop this meaningless war, because it will do no one good as His Excellency Sir Fubara had stated that peace is priceless as published in The Nation Newspaper of November 4, 2023 and however remains priceless.
