Military sources have confirmed that recent United States Navy precision airstrikes carried out against terrorist positions in North West Nigeria were limited strictly to verified combatants and their operational infrastructure.

According to the sources, the strikes, which were executed in close coordination with the Nigerian military, targeted confirmed terrorist elements and key logistics hubs used to sustain their activities. They emphasized that extensive intelligence gathering and surveillance preceded the operation to ensure accuracy and avoid civilian harm.

“The operation was highly precise and intelligence-driven. Only confirmed terrorist combatants and their logistics facilities were neutralized,” a senior military source said, describing the mission as successful and in line with its stated objectives.

The coordinated strikes are part of ongoing efforts by Nigerian security forces, supported by international partners, to degrade the operational capacity of terrorist groups operating in the region. Military officials noted that the action has significantly disrupted supply lines and weakened the ability of the targeted groups to carry out attacks.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to safeguarding civilian lives while sustaining pressure on armed groups threatening national security, adding that further operations would continue to rely on verified intelligence and joint cooperation.
