The Abia State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has intensified mobilisation for the forthcoming World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) Abuja 2026 with a roadshow in Umuahia.
The awareness campaign, which held as part of a nationwide roadshow by NIPR chapters across Nigeria, brought members and supporters into the streets of the Abia State capital to promote the global public relations forum.
Despite the rainfall, members of the chapter turned out for the exercise, which also highlighted the importance of professionalism, responsible communication and collaboration in the public relations industry.
Chairman of NIPR Abia State Chapter, Onyinye Onwuzuruike Ralph-Nwachukwu, fnipr, commended members and partners for their commitment to the campaign.
She specifically appreciated the participation of senior members of the Institute, including Chinkwe Ikenyi, Charles Ifenkwe and Uzoma Isiakpu, saying their presence strengthened the mobilisation effort.
The chairman also acknowledged Felix Olunkwa and members of the chapter’s Executive Committee for their contributions towards the success of the exercise.
The roadshow received support from the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters, Abia State Chapter, led by Chinezerem Agbakuru; Abia State Sports Council; and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Abia State.
Ralph-Nwachukwu described the turnout as a reflection of the unity within the chapter, particularly in the face of the unfavourable weather.
“Today, you showed me again that NIPR Abia is not just a chapter; we are a family,” she said.
She thanked members and supporters who participated physically and those who encouraged the initiative through calls, messages and other forms of support.
The chairman further expressed appreciation to individuals and organisations that contributed to the success of the roadshow, praying that their efforts would be rewarded.
WPRF Abuja 2026 is expected to bring together public relations practitioners, communication professionals, academics, policymakers and other stakeholders from Nigeria and across the world.
The NIPR Abia chapter said it remains committed to supporting the successful hosting of the forum while advancing responsible communication and professional excellence.
