The former Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area noted that investing in the girl child through education, healthcare, protection from abuse and equal opportunities was essential to building stronger families and a more prosperous society.

The lawmaker urged parents and guardians to prioritise the education and welfare of their daughters, while calling on relevant authorities to strengthen measures against child marriage, gender-based violence and discrimination.

He reaffirmed the importance of creating an environment where every girl could grow in safety, develop her talents and contribute meaningfully to the development of Abia State and Nigeria.

Erondu wished girls across the state and beyond a happy International Day of the Girl Child, urging stakeholders to move beyond celebration and translate their commitments into concrete action.
