Abia State chapter of the City Boy Movement has announced a major restructuring of its leadership with several strategic appointments aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilization and improving the movement’s operational effectiveness across the state.
The announcement was made by the State Director, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, following what he described as a comprehensive review of the organisation’s structure and activities in Abia.
As part of the reorganisation, new Local Government Area (LGA) coordinators were appointed in key councils. Joseph Odomuko has been named Coordinator for Isuikwuato LGA, replacing Okechukwu Henry Okorie, while Nathanial Majesty Idam Elakwe has been appointed to the Strategy and Planning Unit, succeeding Daphne Osakwe.
In Obingwa LGA, Hon. Lazarus Enyinnaya Nwamighinna replaces Sunday Hanson Amaechi as Coordinator, while Esiaba Chinkereze takes over from Erica Godwin Ezenwoke as the new Coordinator for Ugwunagbo LGA.
The movement directed all outgoing officials to ensure a smooth and immediate handover of duties, including all documents and operational materials, to the newly appointed officers.
To further strengthen coordination across the state, Orji Chikezirim Monday has been appointed Contact and Mobilisation Lead for Abia South Zone, while Chief Azu Victor will serve in the same capacity for Abia Central Zone. Their roles are expected to enhance communication and grassroots mobilisation within their respective zones.
In a move aimed at leveraging youth culture and the creative economy, the movement also created a new office for innovation and lifestyle-driven engagement. Hon. Eke Janson C., popularly known as the CEO of Indiana Lounge and “Asiwaju of Nightlife,” has been appointed Head of Creative Economy, Tourism and Entertainment. The office will focus on expanding youth participation through entertainment and tourism initiatives.
Additionally, Ikedinachi Charles Isikaku has been confirmed as Lead for Grassroots Engagement and Field Operations in Abia South, where he will coordinate ward-level mobilisation and community outreach. Hon. Eze Foy Walton has also been appointed Lead for Stakeholder Relations and Special Projects, with responsibility for managing strategic partnerships and key engagements.
Speaking on the restructuring, Igbokwe said the changes were part of efforts to reposition the movement for greater impact and efficiency.
“This is about strengthening the system and ensuring we are more responsive, more effective and closer to the people. Every appointee must justify this confidence through dedication, discipline and results,” he said.
The restructuring signals a renewed drive by the City Boy Movement in Abia to deepen grassroots engagement, promote youth inclusion and strengthen stakeholder collaboration as the organisation expands its presence across the state.
