A prominent Labour Party stakeholder in Abia State, Chief Ike Enyioma Ibe, has hosted Dr. Chima Anyaso at his country home in Amankwo Uzuakoli, Bende Local Government Area, where he called for sustained support for the administration of Governor Alex Otti.
The meeting coincided with the Appeal Court judgment delivered on Tuesday, which affirmed the Nenadi Usman-led faction of the Labour Party over the Julius Abure faction, a development both leaders described as a victory for democracy.
Speaking during the visit, Chief Ibe urged party faithful and residents of Abia State to continue supporting Governor Otti’s development agenda, stressing the need for unity and collaboration to consolidate the administration’s achievements.
He noted that Governor Otti has performed creditably within his first 35 months in office, adding that the governor deserves the backing of Abians to secure re-election in 2027 in order to complete ongoing projects and deepen good governance in the state.
According to him, granting the governor a second term would enable him to build on the foundation already laid and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
Chief Ibe also thanked Dr. Anyaso for the visit and pledged his support for his aspiration to represent Bende Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
He expressed confidence that Anyaso’s candidature would bring meaningful representation to the constituency, noting that the aspirant has consistently demonstrated commitment to initiatives that promote the welfare and development of the people of Bende.
Earlier, Dr. Chima Anyaso explained that his visit formed part of his ongoing consultations with key stakeholders of the Labour Party as he pursues his ambition to represent Bende Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
He commended Chief Ike Enyioma Ibe for his contributions to the growth of the Labour Party and described him as a trusted and dependable party stalwart as well as a strong supporter of Governor Alex Otti’s administration.
Anyaso also described the Appeal Court ruling as a victory for democracy, expressing confidence that it has further strengthened the leadership and unity of the Labour Party.
