Obi, Kwankwaso Move to Join NDC After ADC Exit
Former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, have arrived at the national secretariat of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) in Abuja amid indications of their planned defection to the party.
Also present at the meeting is Senator Victor Umeh, who represents Anambra Central in the National Assembly.
Sources said the political heavyweights are expected to formally declare their intention to join the NDC, marking a significant development in the country’s evolving political landscape ahead of future elections.
The move comes hours after Obi announced his resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing unresolved internal crises within the party.
Although Kwankwaso has yet to officially confirm his exit from the ADC, indications suggest he is aligning with Obi as both leaders explore a possible joint political platform.
Observers say the development could signal renewed coalition efforts, with speculations growing around a potential Obi-Kwankwaso alliance, popularly referred to as the ‘OK’ ticket.
