Chima Anyaso Visits Bende LGA Mayor, Council Staff to Mark 45th Birthday
Philanthropist and founder of the Ofuji Foundation, Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, on Tuesday paid a familiarization visit to the Mayor of Bende Local Government Area, Deacon Uwabunkaonye Bassey, and staff of the council headquarters as part of activities marking his 45th birthday.
The visit coincided with the Iriji Festival week organized by the Ofuji Foundation and was both a courtesy call and a show of solidarity with the council leadership and workforce.
Addressing staff at the council headquarters, Dr. Anyaso commended Mayor Bassey for what he described as remarkable achievements within a short time in office, adding that the progress recorded in Bende reflects the broader transformation agenda of Governor Alex Otti.
“What we are witnessing here is a ripple effect of the governor’s reforms across the state. From infrastructure to economic revival, every sector is being touched. I urge you all to continue supporting the governor and the mayor to sustain this momentum,” he said.
In his remarks, Mayor Bassey lauded Dr. Anyaso’s consistent philanthropy, describing him as a true son of Bende whose contributions continue to impact lives across the state. He also disclosed plans to convene a stakeholders’ summit to chart new development strategies for the LGA.
The Deputy Leader of the Bende Legislative Council, Hon. Chidiebere Chukwu, and the local NULGE chairman, Mr. Okechukwu, also commended Dr. Anyaso for his generosity and prayed for God’s blessings on him.
The visit ended with the cutting of Dr. Anyaso’s birthday cake alongside the mayor and council staff, in a display of camaraderie and renewed commitment to grassroots development.
