He noted that the scale of the empowerment programme was comparable to those typically organised by members of the House of Representatives.

Kalu used the occasion to formally woo the Obingwa lawmaker into the APC, stressing the need for collaboration to achieve greater political success in Abia State and beyond.
“Staying in the PDP is under-developing yourself. APC needs people with potentials like you. This is the right time to come. There is life in APC,” he said.
He added that the task of delivering President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections was bigger than any personal political ambition, hence, the need to collaborate with Erondu Jnr who he described as a grassroot politician that is loved by his people.

“I have seen a courageous man in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We are not there yet, but we have left where we used to be,” Kalu stated.
He further disclosed that Abia APC had registered over 160,000 members and urged the people of Obingwa to join what he described as the “moving train” and become part of the Renewed Hope agenda.
