Lawmaker Erondu Jnr Attends Chieftaincy Ceremony in Isieketa Ancient Kingdom

The Chairman, House Committee on Public Service Matters in the Abia State House of Assembly, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr., has joined his colleague, the Member representing Isialangwa North State Constituency, Hon. Ugochukwu Iheonunaekwu, at a chieftaincy conferment ceremony held in Isieketa Ancient Kingdom, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.

Speaking at the ceremony, Erondu Jnr. congratulated Hon. Iheonunaekwu on the well-deserved honour, describing the chieftaincy title as a clear testament to his commitment to grassroots representation and effective legislative service. He noted that the recognition reflected the strong bond between the lawmaker and his constituents, adding that such honours affirm the value of responsive leadership and people-oriented governance.

The lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State Constituency further noted that traditional institutions remain critical partners in promoting peace, unity and sustainable development at the community level, urging continued collaboration between elected representatives and traditional rulers in advancing the welfare of the people.

In his remarks, Hon. Ugochukwu Iheonunaekwu expressed profound gratitude to the traditional ruler and the entire people of Isieketa Ancient Kingdom for the honour bestowed on him. He described the title as a call to higher responsibility and renewed commitment to service, pledging to continue to uphold the values of integrity, accountability and dedication to the welfare of his constituents.

The event attracted traditional rulers, community leaders, political stakeholders, youths and women groups from across the Ngwa axis, who gathered to witness the conferment and celebrate the honouree.

Earlier in his remark, the Royal Father, His Royal Majesty, Eze Nelson Achilefu Nmerengwa (JP), said the conferment was in appreciation of Hon. Iheonunaekwu’s positive impact and consistent support for the community, urging him to see the honour as a mandate to do more in service to humanity.

Hon. Iheonunaekwu was conferred with a traditional title by the traditional ruler of Isieketa Ancient Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Eze Nelson Achilefu Nmerengwa (JP), in recognition of his contributions to community development, leadership and dedicated service to the people.

The ceremony featured cultural displays, goodwill messages and prayers for peace and progress in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area and Abia State at large.
