Renowned digital strategist and Ndoki-born Ijaw indigene, Johnmartins Ijere, has taken his consultation campaign to Abuja as part of his bid to emerge as the Worldwide Spokesperson of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC).
During a meeting with members of the Abuja Chapter of the IYC in the Federal Capital Territory, Ijere outlined his vision for strengthening the voice and visibility of the Ijaw nation at both national and international levels.

Addressing stakeholders and youth leaders, the aspirant said his ambition was driven by a desire to promote unity among Ijaw youths while projecting the identity and interests of the ethnic group more effectively.
Ijere noted that his aspiration goes beyond occupying a position, adding that he intends to deploy his experience in digital strategy and communication to reposition the spokespersonship of the council as a more dynamic and influential platform.
According to him, the time has come for the Ijaw nation to strengthen its collective voice and ensure that its history, culture and aspirations are properly represented.

“This is the right time to sharpen and strengthen the Ijaw voice and present our story with clarity, pride and purpose,” he said.
Ijere also pledged to leverage modern communication tools and strategic engagement to amplify the concerns and contributions of Ijaw youths across Nigeria and the diaspora.
In his response, the Chairman of the IYC Abuja Chapter, Comrade Emmanuel Dienma Abibo, commended the aspirant for engaging members of the chapter and presenting his ideas.

Abibo assured that the chapter would maintain fairness and transparency throughout the process, providing a level playing field for all contestants seeking leadership positions in the council.
Ijere, who has built a reputation in digital communication and youth engagement, said he remains committed to advancing the interests of the Ijaw nation and strengthening its presence in national discourse.
